Welcome to The Academy of Shotokan Karate Offical Blog. We extend a warm welcome to everyone, whether you are complete beginner or an experienced karate-ka. Our academy is welcome to all ages from 5 and up, classes are structured to suit all abilities and fitness levels.

Meet Dave Hazard, chief instructor of A.S.K. He's a world class martial artist - a 7th dan

black belt in Shotokan karate - who is respected in the though streets, bars and clubs of East End London as he is in the best karate dojo in Japan, fighting amoung some of the

most skilled practitioners of martial arts in the world. His reputation is legendary.

We extend a warm welcome to anyone everyone, whether you are complete beginner or an experienced karate-ka. Our academy is welcome to all ages from 5 and up, classes are structured to suit all abilities and fitness levels.

Our TIGERS class is for our younger students aged 5 to 7 years which focuses on fun training, but still teaching respect and discipline, essential in later life.

For years 8 to usually 16, we have our junior class. This class is more focused on our syllabus which teaches the skills required to progress through the belt system, while always fun training, regular practice helps build self confidence and fitness.

Our adult classes encompass all the above and are for all levels of fitness and ability. We cater for both male and female students and each student is encouraged to work at their own level of fitness and ability.
